Martyr was released on Jand notably features lore elements that were abandoned or changed shortly after the books release, leaving its canonicity ambiguous (see this section for the discrepancies). It might look like Dead Space and feel like Dead Space, but it's not actually Dead Space. Dead Space: Martyr is the first novel set in the Dead Space universe, written by popular fiction writer B. Now something like Negative Atmosphere might be a lot more likely to survive, as it does not directly infringe on the Dead Space copyright. I'm not saying you definitely shouldn't do it mind you, just that it's not likely to have a happy ending.
